American Giant Museum 2025 Exhibits

  • Bob's Big Boy arrives for 2025 Season!

One of the most common questions we get at the AGM is “When are you getting a Big Boy?”. We have been listening and in late 2024 Joel Baker was able to locate a vintage Bob’s in Charleston, SC and transport it to the museum.

This original statue will be on display for the 2025 season and will be one of the new exhibits featured in the museum. Information will also be available on his history and his connection to the International Fiberglass Co.

  • International Fiberglass

During the Mid-20th Century, drivers were bombarded with signs, billboards, and anything else businesses could employ to attract motorists’ attention and get them to stop.

Find out how International Fiberglass Company introduced America to an amazing array of fiberglass animals, giants, and other kitschy objects – all part of one of the most successful marketing schemes ever devised.

  • The Man Behind the Giants

Joel Baker’s passion for Muffler Man and International Fiberglass figures was born in 2011. Visiting these giants turned into a passion for Joel to track down, rescue, and restore them.

Since 2015, he and his team have been on a mission to save and restore these quirky pieces of American roadside advertising history. Joel’s personal collection has grown to the point where he wants to make them available for the public to enjoy as well.

Uncover Joel’s story at the American Giants Museum.

  • IF Product Line

International Fiberglass Company’s Service Station Product Line featured a set of core items, including: A&W Burger Families, Esso Tigers, Uniroyal Tire Gals, and Texaco Big Friend Station Attendants.

Pull up and relive the circa 1960s service station vibe, via this display of best sellers from one of International Fiberglass Company’s most important product lines.

  • Rotating Exhibits

The American Giants Museum will feature rotating exhibits in addition to its permanent exhibits. The current American Giants Rotating Exhibits feature a original tomahawk once held by a Arizona Muffler Man in addition to a 5’ tall giraffe head.

Check-in periodically to see new items in this changing exhibit space. The giraffe head replaced a Uniroyal Gal foot used for the 2024 season.

  • Heads Up!

    Check out our noggin collection.

Muffler Men invaded America in the 1960s. Over the next several years they morphed into multiple characters: Cowboys, Chefs, Vikings, Native Americans, and more.

Most were based on the original Paul Bunyan figure made by Bob Prewitt and sculpted by Bill Swan around 1963.

Now, you can enter the American Giants Museum and meet several of these head variations.

  • Texaco Big Friend

The main exhibit at the AGM is the original 1967 Texaco Big Friend that stands outside the Museum. This giant is one of 6 remaining Texaco Big Friends that still stand today and one of only 3 that has been restored to his former glory.

This Texaco Big Friend once stood at a Texaco Station in Las Vegas and was recovered in 2016 and restored in 2024. He stands almost 24’ high and is open year route for pictures and visits. More information about him can be found inside during open hours.

  • The Snerd

Another exhibit at the AGM is the original Snerd version that stands in the Land of the Giants. This giant was originally used at an amusement park in Ohio to decorate the miniature golf area. In the 1980s he lost his legs and was used at a Madison, OH bar until he ended up in the American Giants collection.

He was restored in 2023 back to the way he appeared during his time at the Wagon Wheel bar. His hat has been modified since he was made and he has a completely new paint job to reflect his Ohio history.

  • Fill 'er Up!

The American Giants Museum logo is featured on the globes that top the new Texaco pumps. These pumps were added to the AGM in 2023 for the purpose of enhancing the old Texaco feel and to make a great photo op.
